The LTD Bosses decided to have a free day on the LTD System for the grand opening of the New Springfield Station...oops we mean the milestone of Springfield installing a new traffic signal on A Street. Great planning guys. Hitting that time bullseye is such a hard thing to do, huh? By the way the phone number for the Springfield Traffic Signs and Signals is 726-3761. You might give them a call next time you think of having a free day for a traffic signal in Springfield. They may be able to tell you exactly when things are happening.

We here at the Joe Hill LTD Project have heard rumors that Springfield is building a statue to former City Councilman Fred Simmons and retired LTD Driver. Please LTD lets give the riders a free week for this wonderful milestone when it happens.

The Joe Hill LTD Project has also heard that Springfield is installing new manhole covers on 14th Street between A and Main in November. LTD should have a free day for this incredible milestone. Lets celebrate! How about a GM Barbecue for this milestone. What do ya say?

Are we ready yet?

Next week they are planting cattails in the bio-swale at the new Springfield Station. What a milestone - another free day - oh please.

And when the New Station does open in October or November maybe LTD should have a Free Fare Year. It will be cheaper than BRT and ridership which has been falling for the last three years ought to finally have an upswing. Ya think?
